FWT Tour Photos Finesse West Alums are wise to the fact that if Fred or an FWT staff member snaps a good shot of you on tour, that photo will make its way to your mailbox after you return home. But what happens to the great shots of other fun folks on tour? What if you’d like a copy of Fred’s photo of a fabulous guide, a hilarious bridge director, a Finesse West Alum “performing” at the Farewell Dinner? Well, the truth is, Fred does two things with Finesse West Tour photos. He mails them to the folks pictured or permanently “files them” in his garage. Very soon, however, you’ll be able to access all of the Finesse West tour photo. Along with the great shots of you in a fabulous destination that arrive in your mailbox, you’ll receive a notice from us with directions to log on to www.finessewest.com and click through our Online Photo Album. You’ll be able to: * Access all “official” FWT tour photos * Print copies for your photo album * Save tour photos on your computer * Share tour photos via email Don’t worry! Finesse West staff are working on an Online Album that’s FUN & EASY TO USE. We’ll send you an official notice when all systems are “go!” And we’re certain that you’ll love being able to have access to all the photos from our fun tours, not just the few that we typically manage to rescue from Fred’s illustrious garage. - Debbie Braidic Scandinavian Bridge Mogul Plans FWT Social Event Tommy Sandsmark, one of Scandinavia’s truly colorful bridge figures, is set to host Finesse West Tours for a delightful evening of bridge and fun on July 7th, during our fourth Nordic Bridge Holiday to Norway, Denmark, and Sweden. President Emeritus of the International Bridge Press Association (along with only two others--Alan Truscott and Henry Francis), Sandsmark adds his witty personality to a list of impressive bridge contributions and achievements. His well-loved bridge columns are regular features in local and national newspapers and locals line up to play in his regular games. Tommy has been in constant contact with Finesse West, not only to exchange a few delectable bridge hands with me, but to reassure us that our traveling bridge players will enjoy a truly delightful evening on the 7th of July. Enough Already!” cried fearless Finesse West tour director Fred Theurkauf, as he listened to an alumni complain for the millionth time of a favorite blouse ruined by the dreaded Finesse West nametag pin. It was a cool September day in Moscow and our Waterways of the Czars bridge travelers were touring the Kremlin. Fred was trying to hear the group’s guide describe the history, the sights and the events of Russia’s landmark structure. But visions of alumni holding up damaged haute couture and fingering Fred as the culprit barged into his head. Pondering the problem of the spoiled silk blouses, Fred spied a tourist from another tour group, sporting a name badge that was “pinless.” Little did Fred know that this chance encounter would change the course of Finesse West history. Fred returned home anxious to research the situation. After a few months of testing various badge attachment styles (thanks John Vanderveen), Fred found the complaint-proof solution. Our new name badges are about to be put to the test on our Bridge “Down Under” holiday this April. This handsome fashion accessory features: 1. Large ID Card-sized Name Badge (Readable for miles) 2. Lanyard Style Overhead Cords (No pins thru clothes) 3. Breakaway Attachment (Won’t mess up your hairdo) 4. Sliding Bead for Easy Length Adjustment (Assures that your badge hangs where Fred wants it—YUCK!) 5. Detachable Lanyard Allows You to Clip Badge to Collar or Pocket (Provides an alternative fashion statement) We’ve taken a few photos of the our new look and recruited our best Finesse West models, selected for visual appeal. We’re certain you’ll be very happy with the updated fashion accoutrement and Fred is very excited about lowering the number of silk blouses listed as “killed in action” on Finesse West tours.
