Fall Foliage sightseeing and bridge-playing holiday
through Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Vermont, French
Canada’s Quebec Province and Maine. We’ll retrace our
revolutionary history on Paul Revere’s ride from Boston
to Lexington & Concord. We won’t miss the brilliant fall
colors for which this region of the U.S. and Canada is so
very famous. We’ll meander through Maine’s quaint coastal
villages from Bar Harbor (Acadia N.P.) to Portland. And
we’ll enjoy the hospitality of local bridge players in
Boston MA, Burlington VT, Montreal, Quebec City, Bangor &
Portland ME. Come join in the fun, history, super natural
beauty, and bridge all along the way.

Enjoy lunch in the historic Quincy Market |
Today we capture the spirit of the American Revolution on a tour of the U.S.S. Constitution, the Old North Church, Boston Common and Beacon Hill. After free time for lunch at Faneuil Hall and bustling Quincy Market, we head to Cambridge for a glimpse of the campuses at MIT and Harvard.

The Bridge Spot Club players in Woburn, MA invite us to join them for our first evening of dinner and duplicate bridge in New England. This will be a fun and lively evening.

We depart this morning along the North Shore to Salem to visit the Witch Museum and Nathaniel Hawthorne’s House of Seven Gables. After included lunch at Pickering Wharf, we’ll follow Paul Revere’s historic ride for Lexington and Concord, the birthplace of the American Revolution. At the Old North Bridge, where the “shot heard round the world” was fired, we’ll hear the story told.

This a.m. we depart for New Hampshire’s White Mountains and famous Mount Washington, breathtaking foliage on the Kancamangus Highway and lunch in North Conway. We’ll then head for Franconia and a spectacular ride on the Cannon Mountain Aerial Tram with views of Franconia Notch. We’ll enjoy dinner at the Attitash Grand Summit Resort together tonight.

We head northeast this a.m. into Vermont to it’s charming capital, Montpelier. We’ll stop for a photo of this brilliant gold-domed building. After a gourmet lunch served by the students of the famous New England Culinary Institute at Vermont College, we’re off into Ethan Allen’s Green Mountains. We’ll stop at Morse Farm to experience the making of authentic maple syrup as well as time at famous Cabot Annex Store for everything you couldn’t image from Vermont. We then continue on accross Vermont to it's largest city, Burlington, right on the shores of Lake Champlain.

Following a brief tour of historic Burlington right on the shores of Lake Champlain, we’ll head for the celebrated 45-acre Shelburne Museum devoted to American memorabilia. Then it’s north into Canada and the lively French city of Montreal.

Most charming Monsieur Kamel Fergani, owner of Le Mirage Club de Bridge, has invited his French Canadians players to join us this evening for dinner and a social session of duplicate bridge.

Along with our English-speaking French-Canadian guide we’ll tour old Montreal including the Basilica of Notre Dame, Mont Royal, Olympic Park, St. Joseph’s Oratory and a brief walking tour of famous McGill University. Afternoon and evening at leisure.

Today we travel along the St. Lawrence River to the famous walled-city of Quebec. We’ll have time to wander the lower city on our own and enjoying lunch, before checking into our hotel right at famous Saint Jean City Gate.

This evening we are guests of Madame Pauline LeMonde and Quebec City players for dinner and our last session of bridge in French Canada.

We’ll start our tour with the Changing of the Guard at the Citadel. Then visit Parliament and the Cathredral of the Holy Trinity before lunch together at historic Aux Anciens Canadiens. We’ll continue to the shrine of St. Anne-de-Beaupre and famous Montmorency Falls.

We cross the St. Lawrence River into Maine and enjoy a kaleidoscope of colors as we whisk through small hamlets en route to Sugarloaf Mountain. Afternoon at leisure at the resort. Included light lunch.

After a hardy breakfast this morning we'll set out for Bangor. It's our lunch stop with local players. Following bridge our journey carries us through Bangor to the Atlantic coastline at Acadia National Park. Originally called Eden by early settlers, Bar Harbor’s natural beauty and Down East hospitality make it a visitor’s delight. Tonight, we’ll enjoy a traditional lobster bake with our own group.

Today we explore Acadia National Park. The area’s pine and spruce forests mixed with autumn colors, rocky granite cliffs and hidden coves are characteristic of the North Atlantic seaboard’s rugged beauty. We won’t miss Thunder Hole or Cadillac Mountain, where the sun first rises on continental U.S.A. This afternoon you’ll have time to explore Bar Harbor on your own.

Winding along Maine’s scenic, rocky coast, we’ll stop to take in the color of lobstering villages, tidy boatyards such as Camden, Rockport, Damariscotta and Wiscasset. No matter what time we arrive in Freeport, Maine, the L.L. Bean store will be open for us.
